Wollongong City Little Athletics Recognition Awards
WCLAC celebrates athlete achievement, participation, and dedication through a variety of awards designed to encourage continued involvement in athletics.
🧮 Age Point-Score Champion
- Awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each age group (boys and girls)
- Based on points earned at centre competition nights
- Eligibility: Minimum 50% attendance
- Scoring:
- 1st place: 4 points
- 2nd place: 3 points
- 3rd place: 2 points
- All other participants: 1 point
- Note: Points not awarded for heats
🏆 Club Champion
- Awarded to the boy and girl with the highest total points across the season
🎖️ Age Group Awards (Up to U12)
- Recognize performance and sportsmanship
🥇 Junior Event Champion Award
- Events: Sprints, Middle Distance, Hurdles, Walks, High Jump, Long Jump, Triple Jump, Shot Put, Discus, Javelin
- Eligibility: 50% attendance (excludes absences due to official athletic events)
- Scoring:
- Club: 1 point for majority 1st place finishes
- Zone: 1st–5 pts, 2nd–4 pts, 3rd–3 pts, 4th–8th–2 pts
- Region: 1st–8 pts, 2nd–6 pts, 3rd–4 pts, 4th–8th–3 pts
- State: 1st–10 pts down to 24th–1 pt
- Records: Centre–1 pt, Zone–2 pts, Region–3 pts, State–4 pts, National–5 pts
🥇 Senior Event Champion Award
- Events: All Junior events plus Steeplechase, Pole Vault, Hammer
- Same eligibility and scoring structure as Junior Event Champion
🎉 Participation Award
- Given to athletes who compete at Centre level, receive no other awards, and attend the Presentation Night
🏅 President’s Award
- Awarded to the athlete who best reflects the spirit of Little Athletics: family, fun, fitness, and doing your best
🏅 State Combined Award
- Awarded to the athlete with the highest top-8 placement at the State Multi Event
🏅NSW State Team Award
- Awarded to:
- Athletes (13+) selected for the NSW State Team (Australian Little Athletics Championships)
- Athletes selected for the NSW Junior Championship Team (Australian Junior Championships)
🙌 Ron Thompson Volunteer Award
- Honors a volunteer who has gone above and beyond
- Named after Life Member Ron Thompson
🕔 WCLA 5 Years’ Service Award
- Given to athletes with 5 years of continuous service at WCLAC
đź•™ LANSW 10 Year Athlete Service Award
- Certificate awarded by LANSW for 10 years of continuous service at any NSW Little Athletics Club
🏅 WCLA Life Member Award
- Awarded to individuals with long and outstanding contributions to WCLAC and Little Athletics
- Nominations accepted until end of February

- Each athlete receives a certificate with their best results from the season
🏅 Record Certificates
- Awarded throughout the season for breaking Centre Records
