Friday 20 September is our first club night which will be Orientation Night.
Orientation night is an introductory night for our athletes to try new age group events, see how little athletics club nights run for new members, to meet and get to know their new age group friends and enjoy the night without competition in a relaxed, fun environment.

What to expect
- On arrival, parents/caregivers/grandparents will need to sign on their little athlete in the age group folders to let us know that the athlete is in attendance. Trialists will also need to write their child’s name on the attendance sheet for their particular age group.
- Trialists will then check in at the BBQ area to collect your trialist tags, then move across to the grassed area outside the track, adjacent to the finish line, and line up in their particular age group. All other athletes will line up in their age group in the same area at the allocated time.
- Our president will address all athletes with a season welcome, the procedures of the night and make sure that all age groups have a sufficient number of parent helpers before sending athletes to their first event at 5.15pm.
Tiny Tots
- At the allocated time, 5.20pm, all tiny tots and parents/carers will assemble on the grassed area outside the track, adjacent to the finish line.
- Our president will welcome our new tiny tots and go through the procedures of the night as well talking about what to expect during the season before sending athletes to their allocated event area to start at 5.30pm.
BBQ ROSTER – It is essential for parent helpers to assist on the BBQ in order for it to run smoothly and without delay. Funds raised solely from the BBQ allow ALL parents/carers and athletes FREE entry to Beaton Park on club nights throughout the season. 3-4 parents from each age group are required for the BBQ per timeslot. Below is the age groups allocated to the BBQ on our first club night.
5.15-6.30pm – 6 boys and girls
6.30-7.45pm – 12 boys and girls
Uniforms
If your little athlete is waiting on uniforms and they will not have them in time for our first club night, they can wear a white or red shirt until the uniforms arrive. Numbers and age patches still MUST be worn to club nights and can be pinned on temporarily. We will have pins available if required.
